My own little city retreat!
That's what comes to mind when standing in my garden every morning.
It's where I start the day.
Thanks to you Hedwig, and your woman's touch,
my small backyard garden is perfectly tailor made.
Varying shades and textures of green,
the sound of water and ornamental grasses
that move with the slightest breeze.
It's now even become a client-specific healing garden.
A small one, but still....
'A tucked away haven' someone called it.
Most of my clients deal with stress related issues
and for them to step into the green haven
lowers their anxiety levels and
awareness of pain.
I've really seen it happen.

Hedwig, you're a gardener with soul

I would like to thank Hedwig Bijl of company Juffertje in het Groen for the skilfull maintenance of my garden and the design and implementation of a grave planting at Westduin. Somewhere in 2015 I finally made up my mind. Each year I was (too) late in doing the spring and winter maintenance. Of course my garden was still pretty nice, but it felt like a burden to do everything on my own. At BNI meetings I heard positive rumors about garden woman Hedwig Bijl and I dared to plunge. From 2015 on Hedwig is in charge of the garden maintenance in spring and autumn. She jumps cheerful out of her company car in the morning, she loads all kinds of garden tools from her car, and starts working. When she leaves in the afternoon, my garden is clean, tidy, no weed to see anywhere. In addition, and this makes me very happy, she takes all the garden waste with her, so no more need or struggle to pile up the garden waste in or next to the ‘groenbak’. A few old trees have been replaced after good advice. In my back yard a new, little ornamental apple tree is blooming, two new trees in my front yard start getting leaves. She took care of new planting on a family grave at Westduin (where I hopelessly failed in planting). The result will be seen this coming spring. In short, I'm unburdened by a professional maintenance of my garden all year round. So I have more time for sitting, relaxing and enjoying my garden. I like to recommend Hedwig Bijl and Juffertje in het Groen to everybody for a better joy of his / her garden. Thanks a lot, Hedwig!

I want to pay my highest compliments to Hedwig Bijl and her Gardening Company ‘Juffertje in het Groen’. In an emotional rough time I asked her to help me and my family creating a very special little garden: my sister’s grave. We did not want a cold gravestone: we wanted a more natural place with a lot of plants but lacked ideas, motivation, and knowledge which plants would survive without everyday care. Every plant we had put in died and we got sadder by the minute. Hedwig worked magic in transforming a pitiful bit of sand into a place of peaceful rest and happy remembrance. She took care of the necessary license, and the discussions with the cemetery people. But most of all, she made me see what her slogan ‘A woman’s touch and an eye for detail’ really means. Her very considerate and empathetic attitude showed us she cares: not only about us but also about my sister, to create a place that honored her life and death perfectly. From our hearts: a sincere thank you.

My dear friends have bought a new house in nice neighborhood, but the house came with a flaw. The garden was narrow due to the car passage toward the common parking. They wanted to do something about it and contacted several gardeners, but the solution was not looking promising. That is when I told them about your approach and your work. Right after your first appointment I have heard back from them thanking me for giving them your contact. They said you were the first gardener that showed on time, showing professionalism and respect toward their time. You were the first one that actually listened to their requirements, thought about them and incorporated them into your draft. They started to be enthusiastic about the space you started to paint in front of their eyes. Last week the garden was completed and comments from my friends is: “It looks better that anything we could hope for. Anything we could even imagine from the sketches. It gives feeling of being more specious and it is just wonderful!” Thank you Hedwig for your professionalism and magic touch of your fingers that turn impossible to wonderful.
